Entries and the Draw

M&Q list – published 06.03.2020

The lists with players/pairs for the main draw and qualifications have now been processed and can be seen here – https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/acceptancelist.aspx?id=338829AD-F486-4C06-AFF9-C49897137C14
For choosing the players/pairs and determining the order, the BWF World Ranking of 3 March 2020 has been used.

Before the withdrawal deadline (16.03.2020)  has passed, a promotion from the “Waiting List” to the Main/Qualification draw is obligated and will be done automatically, unless the respective player/pair has withdrawn from the “Waiting List” beforehand. After the withdrawal deadline has passed, a promotion must be confirmed in writing by the association/associations of the respective player/pair before it takes place. Only when this confirmation has been given, the player/pair is considered as an entry. (reg. 17.4 of the Badminton Europe Elite circuit regulations)

All withdrawals before the withdrawal deadline shall be done by using the online entry system? The lists will then be updated online accordingly.

Tournament is open for all badminton players who are eligible to play for BWF Member Associations.

To make it clear how the promotion process goes, we´d like to publish the message from Badmininton Europe Confederation below.

For Grade 3 tournaments and Junior International Tournaments (BEC Elite, Junior and U17 Circuit)
As BWF states, Badminton Europe can have its own regulations/procedures/timelines for implementation at BEC Elite, Junior and U17 Circuit tournaments.
Therefore we have instructed all our referees that promotions from reserve list to qualification/main draw can take place up until the Team Managers Meeting, but not later.

In accordance with our recently published updated Circuit Regulations, our organizers and referees are instructed to publish the draw and the first day’s schedule no later than Sunday after the draw has been made. This early publication is made due to the fact that we wish to give the players and their entourage the best possible conditions to prepare early for the tournament.
As this early publication is about 10-11 days before the start of the tournament, it is our clear opinion that this is too soon to stop accepting promotions from the reserve list. We are already experiencing long waiting lists and we want to give non-accepted players the opportunity of being accepted into the tournaments.

As usual, the promotion of players in the qualifying tournament to the main draw, can still take place after the Team Managers Meeting following the BWF General Competition Regulations.
